March Wish List

Yesterday was the first day of spring and it seemed like the perfect opportunity for a wishlist post! It's the perfect time to start looking for that perfect color of chino shorts or your new go-to summer dress. I was so excited to break out my short sleeve shirts and sandals when it warmed up last week and it got me looking for some new spring essentials!
Shirt: I'm always looking for cute short sleeve shirts to wear to school in the spring. I love the blue color of this one and the crochet detailing. It's simple, but it's unique and would look super cute with some white jeans.
Shorts: I usually stick to solid colored chino shorts during the spring and summer, but I'm really trying to break out this year. I think these shorts are perfect, because they are still classic but have a fun twist with the polka dots.
Bikini(Top/Bottom): This year Aerie has so many cute bikini's I already ordered two, but then I found this one and I'm really trying to resist the urge to order it. I love the fun coral bottoms paired with the simple white top, plus I LOVE the ruffle detailing on the top.
Dress: These are my go to dresses, I seriously want them in every color. They are simple and can be dressed up or down. I love wearing them to school with a simple jean jacket and sandals. I love this deep berry pink because you really can make it work in any season!
Hat: I've never really been much of a hat person, but I really want to try one out this spring and summer.  This hat is perfect, because it is a light neutral color(not too bold) and it has stripes. I think you could wear it with a super cute outfit or throw it on when you are headed to the pool.

What's on your spring wish list?

A Change of Heart: Balancing Success and Love

I've always been the independent girl. The girl that was on her own and was determined to find success all by herself. If I am being brutally honest, I told my mom on multiple occasions, I was never going to get married or have kids. And I really believed it until this year; I thought I would be the fun fashionable family member that had a great job and traveled and just lived life all on her own.  I guess it was all fueled by my need to be my own person, so I ignored the thought of love. But in high school I learned to be independent and, as a result, I became open to the thought of love. Of course, I still want to be that successful woman, but I have realized that I can have that and more. And that I really do want more. I want a forever best friend. When I first began thinking about this one quote always came to mind, the idea that success is nothing unless you have someone to share it with. I'm starting to realize this is true. Life is an adventure and while some adventures are meant to be taken alone, I'm realizing the adventures of life sure do love company. I see husband and wife laughing in Target and a couple making silly faces at dinner and I think about how much I want that. I began to fall in love with love. I would see genuinely happy couples, and it would make me happy. I guess the moment I realized this was the moment things changed for me. I began to think about what building a life with someone would be like and what it would be like spending everyday thinking of one person. I realize life isn't a perfectly edited Tumblr picture or a quote on Pinterest, but I do know that life is for living and I wouldn't mind sharing it with someone else. I guess what I am trying to say is that life is not black and white, you can have everything if you are willing to try and make it work.  Don't be closed off to ideas, paint life your perfect shade of gray. Search for your own version of "life goals" whether it's city living with a super trendy guy or life on the lake with your fun-loving golden retriever. Everyone deserves to have a life they are in love with and I think I have become one step closer to discovering what mine looks like. I know love finds you when you are ready and I am content on my own for now, and I look forward to traveling through life in search of my forever person.

Snapshots of My Life: 2/28-3/5

I've been meaning to sit down and write this post since last Sunday, but my life has been crazy!! Tennis, moving, school, babysitting, and clubs just have gotten a little overwhelming lately, but I'm definitely getting better at managing my time. It's the last semester of my senior year, and I wanted to share some of the highlights of my week.
2/28: I moved!
I only moved a few miles away from my old house, but leaving the house I lived in for a little less than 10 years was pretty sad. But I love my new house and am excited for the memories that I will have in it! This was my room the night we moved in, I pretty much only had the furniture and bare necessities, but it was beginning to feel like home. Once I get my room all in order I would love to share a room tour post!

2/28: How cute is this shirt?
I love this shirt and wanted to give a little shout out to the lady who made it and her Etsy shop. Check out Lively Gal on Etsy, she has tons of cute stuff listed but also is happy to do custom orders! I love the shirt and love getting to rep my future home! It's a super cute and fun alternative to most college spirit wear. Plus, who doesn't love a super comfy baseball tee.

3/1: My Spanish Project!
I wanted to share this because my friend and I were really proud of how our idea turned out! Basically, it is a tree house school that uses reusable and recyclable materials. I love AP Spanish because we get to do hands-on projects that deal with global issues. I definitely recommend this class if it offered at your school, you won't regret taking it!

 3/3: Casual but cute OOTD
I thought this outfit was super cute, but I also wanted to share because I thought it was a good transition outfit. It's perfect for those spring days where it 38 degrees in the morning and 55 degrees by the afternoon. It's a simple Nordstrom BP Sweater paired with a J.Crew Factory necklace and some dark skinny jeans and cognac flats from Target!

3/4: Friday night Spring Break shopping!
I found out I am going on spring break with my best friend, and I am so excited! Spring break is in less than a month and I couldn't help but start shopping. Check out Aerie if you are looking for some super cute bikinis, they have so many cute ones! Also, the perfect complement to online shopping is watching How I Met Your Mother, of course.

Let me know if you liked getting a glimpse into my life and I will do another post like this soon! A lot of things are starting to come to an end, so hopefully, I'll begin to have more time for blogging very soon!

Spring Break Essentials

I know many of you are probably headed to your spring break destination or are eagerly awaiting it like I am, so I thought I would share some of my essentials for a fashionable and fun spring break. I've been shopping around a lot for spring break shopping because I'm actually going to Florida this year with my family and my best friend! I think it will definitely be a memorable trip to close off my senior year. Now for my spring break beach essentials...
Tote: I think it is nice to have a tote to be able to carry down to the beach or to the pool. Fill it with sunscreen, a towel, your favorite book, and a water bottle that way you have everything you need all in one place and can just enjoy time on the beach without having to run back to the place you are staying over and over!
Long Sleeve Stripe Tee: Most likely there will still be some chilly nights or days wherever you are going especially since it is just the beginning of spring. I think its great to just have a simple long sleeve tee that you can throw on with some shorts and look cute but still stay warm!
Cover Up: A cover up is an essential to wear down to the beach or pool to cover up your bathings suit and help keep you a little warm. I know a lot of people just like to wear t-shirts, but if you prefer more traditional coverups like me, this one is super cute! I love the eyelet paired with the pom poms.
Sandals: Sandals are a must have; in my opinion, Palm Beach Sandals are the ultimate choice. You can wear them down to the beach, but they also look super cute if you're going out to dinner or wandering around the town.  They are versatile, and a metallic color like gold will go with everything!
Shorts: Chino shorts are pretty much the only shorts I wear during the summer. I always stock up on the fun new colors each year, and I love this green color! It would look so great with a navy or white top. They are comfy and cute, and the best shorts to wear for any occasion.
Bikini Top: Obviously a bathing suit is a necessity for the beach, but I thought I would share my favorite that I have found. I love this bikini top! It is colorful and fun and, therefore, makes a statement. Plus, it isn't very expensive!
Hat: A hat is perfect to help keep the sun off of your face, and a super cute one like this one from Vineyard Vines will help you look super cute. You can wear it while lounging around on the beach in a bikini, but also when you are heading out paired with some shorts and a tee.

Obviously, these aren't the only things that you need, don't forget your favorite summer dresses, sunglasses, your favorite book, and some tank tops.  I hope you all have a fun and safe spring break! Let me know where you are headed. Also, would you all be interested in seeing what I pack for my spring break?
