College Life Update: First Week of October

Hey guys! Today I wanted to do a super informal post where I just talk about life. I have recently become a part of some amazing organizations on campus and I am honestly chomping at the bit to share them with all of you!

I mentioned this in one of my posts last week, but I recently got a job through work study at my school at the Ronald McDonald House. I've been working there for a week now, and I have to say I really love it. I love the people I work there with and I love the fact that I am getting paid to help other people. A lot of the stuff I do, is stuff that I would do for free. I find that the time passes so quickly and I look forward to the few hours to help me relax and take a break from school work. The one downside is that it is off campus, so I have to drive there but I honestly think it is worth it! My work schedule is pretty simple, I work around 10 hrs a week: 1-4 Tuesday and Thursday and 11-3 on Friday. I have found it to be very manageable so far.

I also am now a part of WFU Style, which is basically our on campus fashion blog! I was so excited to find this club and am really looking forward to getting involved with it. I was actually chosen to be one of the assistant editors, which is a great honor and I can't wait to see where it takes me. We had our new member training yesterday and it was so exciting to learn how to upload posts and all the events we will be having. If you can't tell I'm just over the moon excited to be involved with this organization!

Also, this week I had my first decorations meeting for Project Pumpkin. Project Pumpkin is this awesome event that Wake Forest puts on where local kids come to our quad and can trick or treat at all the different tables and booths. Of course we want the quad to be fun and decorated, so we are making decorations. Our theme is Zootopia, so we started working on some super fun decorations for that! I also am going to be an escort for project pumpkin, which means I get to take a group of kids around which I am really excited for!

While I have loved getting so involved on campus, I can not forget the reason that I came her and that is academics. Surprisingly, despite doing all these things I have been able to balance my school work. I find I have a lot of small pockets of time, like an hour or so in between classes so if I use that time to get things done and I'm pretty productive! I love using my Day Designer so I can try to use every hour of my day as efficiently as possible. This week hasn't been too bad, I had a Spanish test on Tuesday but besides that I've just had a lot of reading. Next week is going to be crazier so I've also been working on prepping for that!

From last time we were all together at Wake, accepted students day!
I'm looking forward to this weekend because it is parents weekend! My parents and my sister are going to head up on Friday so they can spend the weekend with me. It is supposed to be raining but I'm sure we will find lots of exciting and fun things to do. I hope you all enjoyed this little recap of my life, I have a ton of stuff going on and I look forward to sharing it with all of you!
