But next week is spring break and I can't wait to work on lots of exciting blog content.

Let Go Of Fear

Happy Friday! The past two days have been emotionally challenging for me and I've been left wondering if I'm making the right decisions. I've found comfort in quotes like these that remind me that some things are going to be hard at first but that you have to push through it and have faith in the future. I know that most of the time the first step is uncomfortable and unsteady but it is necessary. Sometimes the thing you fear the most is actually the thing you need the most, especially if it is keeping you from your happiness. Life has an extremely funny way of working out, and it's important to remember that you need rain in order for flowers to grow. So today I challenge you to take the step towards the things that scares you because you never know where it will take you.

The Best Spring Break Swim Suits

Last year, I discovered Aerie swim suits and I have been obsessed ever since. I swear I probably won't buy swimsuits anywhere else(okay except maybe this gingham one from J.Crew). They are super cute, affordable, and not super skimpy. Plus, my favorite thing is that they are unique. You don't have to worry about wearing the same Target swimsuit that at least 3 other people on the beach will also be wearing. I'm just going home for spring break this year, but I still can't help but look at all the cute new swim suits! For all of you that are heading off to somewhere tropical and warm, I thought I would share a few of my favorites. You should definitely spend some time browsing the site as there are so many more cute ones! Have you ever tried Aerie swimsuits? Are you as obsessed as I am?

Life Lately: Sorority Life, Family, Friends

Happy Monday! I've been wanting to write a post about what I have been up to lately because this semester has been jam packed and going by so fast. I can not believe that there are less than two weeks until spring break!

Sorority Life:
If you missed this post then you may not know that I joined a sorority! I have been absolutely loving it. It is so great to always have so many fun things to do and so many great sisters to do them with! One of the big things we had was our first date function, it's called Red, Kite, and Blue and is American themed. It was so fun to get dressed up in red, white, and blue in February and dance the night away with some friends! The other big thing that we had was big little reveal. I got a week full of great gifts and an even better big on Friday at reveal. I may not have been surprised at reveal, but it didn't make it any less exciting and fun! But I've also enjoyed the little things like movie nights and eating yummy food. But I guess the most exciting thing is that I was initiated last Sunday, so I am officially a member of Kappa Alpha Theta. I'm so thrilled with my new sisterhood and can't wait for so many great memories to come!

Family:
I have the greatest parents and sister because they are always putting in the time and effort to come and visit me! My dad came up about 2 weeks ago for the Wake vs. Duke game. The game did not end well(Wake lost in like the last 30 sec), but it was fun to get to hang out with my dad! And then this past weekend my whole family came to visit. I was so excited to see everyone, but especially my sister since she had just passed her driving test! We had a lot of fun going to the Ted talk that Wake Forest had, going to see a Dog's Purpose, and eating some yummy food. I miss them already but am so excited to see them in just two weeks for spring break!

Friends:
I've been trying to really enjoy doing things with friends this semester. I've been loving all the spontaneous off-campus dinner and ice cream runs! A couple weeks ago some friends and I attended a Wake Forest event called Wake Frost. It was a really fancy party, and we loved getting to dress up and eat some super tasty food. It was a really great change of pace from the usual frat party. I've also really loved going to basketball games! Some friends and I went to the Wake vs. NC State game, it was my first time sitting in the student section at a basketball game and I had so much fun standing and cheering on the Deacs! We also made it on the big screen and it's safe to say that moment made me want to crawl under a rock haha. Then this past weekend a friend and I went ice skating! It was so fun and definitely a really good work out. It was something fun to do off campus and I'm already itching to go back! Then later that night we went to another school sponsored event called, aWAKE All Night. It was a fun event with games and food, but more importantly, a fun station where you get to stuff your own bear! I'm not really a stuffed animal person, but even I could resist these adorable puppies.

I have also been absolutely loving the weather lately! It's been in the 70's so many days and I've loved pulling out the sandals, dresses, and tank tops. I have no problem with spring coming a little bit early this year! I hope you all enjoyed this look in to my life. I've really been trying to live my life to the fullest and create memories in everything I do! Let me know what exciting things you've been up to lately.

5 Adorable and Affordable Old Navy Finds

I've had a love affair with Old Navy for as long as I can remember. Every time I go in there I find something that I need, whether it's a fun printed top or a classic tee. They always have something cute. And the best part about Old Navy is that everything is affordable, and especially when they have sales you can score some really great bargains. It is a great way to stalk up on some great new spring pieces! I've shown some of my favorites in this post but it never hurts to stop by the store and see if there is something that catches your eye. I hope you all have a great weekend!

Letting Go

It's easy to get wrapped up in things in college: school work, boys, friendships, partying. You can easily be consumed with these different things and before you know it they are taking over your life. I left first semester feeling exhausted because I was way too wrapped up in way too many of these things. I decided that I needed to make a change, I needed to simply let go.

I learned that happiness doesn't come from spending everyday consumed by school work and that friendships don't occur by just studying together. It's okay to push the reading off for a bit and go get frozen yogurt with your friends. It's healthy to spend that extra time at dinner just laughing with your best friend. And you should most definitely go to that basketball game Saturday afternoon. All relationships take effort and your school work should never get in the way of that because when you graduate with that degree the people are the ones that will still be there for you. I realized as soon as I let go of the constant stress of school, I got my work done much more efficiently because I was 100x happier. Sometimes you have to let that assignment go for a little bit, so you can enjoy the moment and the people in your life.

Similarly, I spent a lot of time first semester chasing after a guy. I put so much time into over thinking every interaction, paying attention to every little detail of my outfit, and analyzing how he would perceive me. It consumed so much of my time and energy, and truthfully it didn't give off a good impression. I ended up becoming way too attached to a guy that I would never end up dating. I so desperately wanted him to be a part of my life that I started to imagine it. It's difficult to remove that fantasy from my head. But I've realized that I need to let it go. I don't need to move on, I don't need to cry, I don't need to eat a mountain of ice cream; I just need to find happiness in myself. I'm going to live my life: dance with my girlfriends to my favorite songs, eat 5 doughnuts, and be genuinely silly. Because confidence and happiness are what truly make you attractive.

I guess ultimately by letting go, I'm allowing my true self to show through. So here's to a semester of great memories, and letting go of the unnecessary stress. Because I truly do believe that happiness is a choice to make the most out of every single day of your life.

Instagram Round-Up + My Big!!!

You may have noticed that I took a week off of blogging last week. This was mostly because I had 2 tests and a paper due as well as a week full of sorority events. But I survived all of the school work and am officially initiated into my sorority! I should have planned ahead a little more with blog posts, but unfortunately the blog ended up getting neglected. I'm back now with an Instagram round-up as well as introducing you all to my big!

 Sweater: J.Crew Factory
Jeans: Levi's
Necklace: J.Crew Factory (Similar)
Watch: Kate Spade
I got so many compliments on this outfit! Who knew a simple sweater and a pretty necklace could be so cute.

 Dress: Old Navy
Necklace: Francesca's
The weather has been so perfect lately, I loved pairing this simple black dress with my downtown field jacket for a warm day. Plus how pretty is my school!

 Top: J.Crew Factory (Similar)
Shoes: Tory Burch (Similar)
I may have a slight obsession with the color kelly green, if you haven't noticed. It is one of my favorite colors to wear!

Sweater: J.Crew Factory
Jeans: Levi's
Shoes: Lucky Brand
Again, I played it simple with just a turtleneck and some jeans. It was perfect for a windy winter day!

Meet my perfect big!! She left me the best surprises all week long and I was so excited to finally open up the box Friday night and find her. She was my first choice and though I figured out who she was part way through the week it was just as exciting at the reveal. I'm so excited to be a part of the pizza fam!

What I Wore this Week: Instagram Round-Up

Like I mentioned in my last Instagram round-up post, it has been so warm in North Carolina and this week was no exception. As you will see I've been wearing some fun clothes that make it seem like spring! I really love doing these posts because I think it is a great way for me to show you all my everyday style.

Sweater: J.Crew Factory
Vest: J.Crew Factory (Similar)

This outfit should look familiar, as I posted another Instagram of it that was included in last week's round-up. But I couldn't help but post another photo as I think this candid one is super cute! Plus, throwback to when it actually felt like winter haha

Sweater: Nordstrom
Leggings: Aerie
Necklace: KJP
Watch: Kate Spade
Boots: Hunter

A rainy day calls for a super comfy outfit! I love my pink Hunter Boots, but I always try to keep the rest of my outfit super simple when I wear them. I've been living in this Nordstrom sweater, it is so comfy! It's perfect for lazy days or you can dress it up to be super cute.

Jacket: J.Crew Factory (Similar)
Shirt: J.Crew Factory (Similar)
Pants: Levi's
Watch: Kate Spade
Shoes: Lucky Brand

This was just a super classic outfit for going to class. Plus, my favorite jacket!! It's perfect for dealing with the temperature changes throughout the day.

Top: J.Crew
Watch: Kate Spade

This outfit was included in my 10 things that make me happy post, definitely check it out! This shirt is so cute; I'm so glad that I've gotten to wear it since it's been so warm.

Dress: Lilla P (Similar)
Shoes: Lucky Brand

If you've been reading the blog for the past 4 months, you probably recognize this dress. I wore it in this post, and it's just the perfect dress to throw on and be comfortable while still looking cute. Just be warned to not wear a dress on a day when it is 25 mph winds like I did. Not my brightest moment...

Top: J.Crew
Watch: Kate Spade
Shoes: Lucky Brand

Again this super cute outfit. I just can't resist how fun this top is, I know I'm going to be wearing it all spring and summer long! The eyelet detailing is just so unique and so cute.

Sweater: J.Crew Factory
Watch: Kate Spade

I was feeling super preppy this day! I loved pairing a fun striped shirt with a cardigan for a super cute but simple outfit. Isn't this the most perfect stripe shirt, it just perfectly fits with my favorite color combo: navy and kelly green.

Top: LOFT (Similar)
Sweater: LOFT (Similar)
Leggings: Aerie
Necklace: KJP

And it is starting to get cold again! Back to the thick sweaters and boots, and hoping that maybe we can get a snow day again soon.

I hope you all enjoyed this post! I really love sharing my outfits and some tidbits about my life. Have a great weekend!

Mid-Week Inspiration

This year I made a goal that I wanted to stop wishing my life away, I wanted to start appreciating the beauty of every single day. I often find by Wednesday that I begin to start yearning for the weekend, and while it is good to have things to look forward to, I still want to appreciate the great things that occur on Wednesday and Thursday. So I thought I would provide some of my favorite quotes for getting through the mid-week slump.

What's your go to quote when you need a little inspiration? I have so many exciting things this weekend and next week that I'm eager for but at the same time I'm trying to enjoy every day!
